Widget Customisation Options

The TemplatesBooth Widget is designed to be flexible, giving you full control over how it appears and functions on your website.

Whether you want to change the background color, language, form elements, or which templates are displayed, our widget offers a variety of customisation options to help you match your website’s design and tailor the experience for your clients.

In this article, we’ll walk you through the pre-built options for customising your widget. For more advanced customisation options, please see our article on Embedding Multiple Widgets.

Notice: Widget settings can be edited from your Account page.

Layout Options

The Layout Options panel allows you to control exactly which layout styles appear inside your TemplatesBooth Widget. This helps ensure your clients only see designs that are compatible with their specific photo booth setup or event style.

Layout Size Options

Show or Hide Specific Layout Sizes

By default, your widget includes all available layout sizes. However, you can easily choose to display only the layout types that are relevant for your business.

Simply check or uncheck the boxes next to each Layout Size, Image Option or Photo Count.

  • Layout Type: this is the type of layout, e.g a 2×6 photo strip or 4×6 postcard
  • Image Type: this is the orientation of the image placeholder inside a template design
  • Photo Count: this is the number of photo placeholders inside a template design

For example, if you only want to offer 4×6 postcard-style layouts with one portrait photo, you could uncheck all options except 4×6 Postcard (Portrait) and 4×6 Postcard (Landscape), Image Type Portrait and Photo Count 1 Image.

Set a Default Layout

You can also set a Default Layout. This determines which layout style your widget will load first when the page opens.

Use the dropdown menu labeled “Default Layout” to choose the layout type you want to pre-select.

For example, if most of your clients use 2×6 Strip layouts, you can set that as the default. The widget will then load showing 2×6 Strip templates by default.

Important: The default layout must be one of the layout sizes you’ve enabled above. If you disable a layout, it won’t be available as a default option.

Categories

The Categories panel gives you full control over which template categories appear in your TemplatesBooth Widget. This is especially helpful if you want to tailor the design options shown to your clients based on your business type, region, or customer preferences.

Show or Hide Specific Categories

By default, your widget will include all available template categories (such as Weddings, Christmas, Halloween, Rustic, etc.). However, you can easily deselect any categories you don’t want to display.

For example:

  • A European photo booth owner may choose to hide the “4th of July” category, since it’s not relevant for their market.
  • A business specializing in Indian Weddings might disable all categories except “Indian” and “Wedding”, making their widget highly focused for their clients.

To adjust your categories:

  • Use the checkboxes under “Visible Categories” to select or deselect categories as needed.
  • If you want to include everything, simply check “Select All”.

Pinned Category (Optional)

The Pinned Category feature lets you choose a category that will always load first when the widget opens. This helps guide your clients’ attention to the designs that are most relevant.

Pinned Categories

For example:

  • If you primarily serve wedding clients, you can set “Wedding” as your pinned category.
  • If you’re running a seasonal promotion, you might pin “Christmas” or “Halloween” during those months.

To set this:

  • Use the dropdown under “Pinned Category” to select your preferred category and hit save at the bottom of the page.
  • Only categories you’ve enabled in the Visible Categories list will appear here.

Tip: Leaving the pinned category blank means the widget will load showing all templates across all visible categories, with no category pre-selected.

Widget Form Elements

The Widget Form Elements panel lets you control which form fields appear when a customer selects a template through your embedded widget.

When your client chooses a design, the widget will display a short form asking for their details. This helps you gather important information for their booking or template customization.

You can enable or disable any of form fields based on your needs. Simply check or uncheck the boxes next to each field in the panel.

For example:

  • If you don’t need to collect phone numbers, just uncheck “Phone Number”.
  • If you’re only interested in the customer’s event date and first name, you can leave just those fields active.

Important Note About Required Fields
We recommend keeping at least the “First Name” and “Last Name” fields active. If you disable all fields, there’s a risk of receiving empty form submissions with no customer information attached.

Leaving at least these two fields enabled ensures you capture basic identifying details from each submission.

Background Colour

The Background Color setting allows you to customize the background color of your TemplatesBooth Widget to better match your website’s branding or overall aesthetic.

Widget Background Color

You can select any color you like using the built-in color picker tool:

  1. Click on the color box next to “Choose a Background-color”.
  2. Use the color slider and palette to find your desired shade.
  3. Alternatively, if you already know your brand’s color hex code, you can paste it directly into the color input box (e.g., #379394).
  4. As you adjust the color, the preview bar below the color picker will update in real time so you can see exactly how your widget background will look.

Reminder: Click save at the bottom of the page after making changes.

Widget Language

The Widget Language setting allows you to change the language your TemplatesBooth Widget displays to your clients. This includes all the widget’s interface text, buttons, labels, and form field placeholders.

Widget Language

🌍 Available Languages

You can choose from the following languages:

  • 🇬🇧 English
  • 🇫🇷 French
  • 🇩🇪 German
  • 🇵🇹 Portuguese
  • 🇹🇭 Thai
  • 🇪🇸 Spanish
  • 🇮🇳 Hindi
  • 🇸🇦 Arabic
  • 🇷🇺 Russian
  • 🇮🇹 Italian
  • 🇳🇱 Dutch
  • 🇮🇱 Hebrew

Once you select a language, all standard text within the widget will automatically update to that language. This makes it easier to provide a seamless experience for clients who speak languages other than English.

Custom CSS

The Custom CSS panel is for advanced users who want complete design control over their TemplatesBooth Widget.

With this feature, you can apply your own CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) rules to further customize the appearance and layout of your embedded widget.

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • This section is intended for users who are familiar with CSS.
  • If you’re not comfortable writing CSS, you may want to consult a web developer or designer.
  • Be careful with your styling choices. Overriding too many default styles can affect widget readability and user experience.
  • CSS entered here only affects the widget embed—it won’t affect other parts of your website.
